Totally disagree.
3 saddle bridges dont cut the mustard for my particular brand of heavy modern psych. Because it demands intotaion in a tuning other than e-e. Also they slice my hands up. My teles sound like teles even with their modern bridges.
Three saddle BULLSHIT. If you're spending over £300 for a mass-produced guitar that only allows you to intonate two strings at a time in 2011 then you're having the piss taken out of you. You're wearing a stained t-shirt that says "piss in my mouth I LOVE IT". Three saddle bridges don't add to the tone or the mojo, they were used because it was easier and cheaper way back in the mists of time. I can't wait to be a 60yr old watching 20-something guitar nerds jizzing themselves blind over a vintage 1991 Rockford plywood strat copy. The spiky fret ends, poorly executed finish and plywood body just adds to the mojo, man!
i just find it to be a personal preference, as i have no issues setting up a 3 saddle bridge.
mind i use the wilkinson compensated bridge..
but if i'm spending in excess of $600 CAD on a tele i'd be out of my mind.
With my Boss Tuner the intonation is always green using Wilkinson compensated saddles. If you follow this "plays better with x" argument to it's logical conclusion we'd all be playing super Strats and Parker Flys. No wait, synths.
