ask him to take off the pickguard, or thats too much to ask.. (sorry for foolish advices)

The pickguard looks tortured to fit in a humbucker.

I'm just saying match up what he's asking for with what they go for on ebay and make a sensible decision. I wouldn't expect to buy or sell at market average for a guitar that's had the body routed (probably messily). Your middle rout, you wouldn't notice as it was covered here, same on this I guess so when it comes down to it it doesn't matter, except the implications of resale value.

Just read a thread on OSG where this guy had found a MIJ jag for cheap, and just like the one I posted before, it had been re-routed for a humbucker.

Before:

After:

(I hope he doesn't mind me reposting his pictures haha..)

I'm waiting on the auction for now.. I tried to lowball the seller of the chopped up one, but he won't budge. Maybe i'll just have to accept that guitars are more expensive over here, trade in my other guitar, and get his jag. Also he offered me a jaguar case from 65-66 for about a 1000 crowns more. What are they worth?

After literally an hour with one last night do not dismiss the single coil CP Jags. My one is incredibly well made.

Just buy it and fix that one if Jags are really expensive in Sweden . A new pickup and pickguard ? No much work . Or if you wanna be even cheaper you can coil tap the humbucker with a push/pull know . You'll get the affect of a single coil for the bridge if desired . If you just want to play this thing and it's no investment ( well, the routing somewhat killed that in ways ) you can get the sound ( or close to it ) with a push pull knob . That is if that humbucker is a good one of course . Just an inexpensive idea . A knob is maybe 10$ ( in the US at least . Don't know in your country) .

Thanks for the input. I got a guitar (that's my dads actually) that's got coil tap, and I don't like it that much. Plus I really don't like the look of humbuckers on jags.

Four days left on the german one. I'll just wait and see.
If I decide to go with the first one laterallateral is kind enough to give me a pickguard :) So I'll only have to find a pickup!

What about this?

After having an ad up for several months with no answers; someone finally wants to buy one of my old guitars! :)

German Jag, be mine!

(Also, now I kind of regret posting the auction here haha..)

UPDATE:

Bad News:

I chicken'ed out on the german one. And I don't want to pay 6000 swedish crowns for the chopped up one.

Good news:

I found a sweet competition blue (non matching head) japanese 'stang. It comes with a hardcase and is reasonably priced.
Since mustang is my second favorite guitar and the fact that it will look good next to my 68 mustang bass, I'm getting it.

One problem though;, the topic will have to be changed. Maybe I'll just delete the whole thread since it's a really dull read.

edit:

Here it is:

NGD!!!! I know this guitar won't get much love here, but I like it!

I don't got an amp at home for the moment, so I can't try it plugged in. But it feels really good and looks like new.
Also, it's my first shortscale guitar!

Too bad that my mustang bass was stripped, because it would look really cool together with this. (It used to be competition red, I think..)

I think he meant the gaff where he lives, not shortscale.

I love red and blue comp stangs. Very nice. I love my new Musicmaster so much that I will eventually need a Bronco and Mustang to go with it. Mustangs get lot's of love here.

Actually, I meant "here" as in here on shortscale. Maybe I was wrong? I read rants about the MG69 being inferior to the MG65 and overall an average guitar. I know some people are put off by the non matching headstock and so on.. However, I like it and it seems like many of you do too :)

I promise to make a demo as soon as I sort out my amp. I got a Musicman HD130 about two weeks ago but I only got a bass cab (4x10) for now.

Cheers!
