Awesome
If I could justify buying myself one I would as I love the big body of ES style guitars and it'd be pretty cool to have one to play rock on.
But alas I have no money, and no job.
Anyway back to that guys strat...
looks pretty good as is, I probably wouldn't add the stripes. I think a set of grey bottom GFS strat pickups would be up your street, get some decent pots and a new switch as well - you'd be surprised at what difference this makes.

That'd look spiffy on my older strat. I already have a set of white covers and a set of cream covers that would work, I'd just need to find a black guard.
you have 2 blue Strats?

No money, no job, can't justify it.... Yeaaaah I was following that mindset. And then I saw the strat. Ramen noodles for dinner, it seems.

the body color doesn't matter so much with matching the neck wood as much as the pickguard material. with a maple neck, black looks brilliant, most of the time white can work well (besides it's classic fender), tort and pearl almost never look good.

Both guitars can look great with either wood. Anaemic maple looks shit on any guitar.

Somewhat off-topic but mildly relevant: What should I name it? (yes, I name my instruments...) My bass is named "Betty", if that helps any. I toyed with the idea of "Veronica", as in Betty and Veronica from the Archie comics. I don't really know. I can't think of anything else.
Also, fat ass stripes are still a go. I think they'll look good on it, so.... That's what matters to me.

I also like the stripes down the middle too. Especially on strats. My guitar player did that to his black strat and it looks really good.
