Not particularly busy. Good to see the J Springster and pals though.

If we could raise the funds for transport over there and hook up with a promoter we'd do it in a heartbeat.

Sadly not as many in as I'd hoped - we had more people drop out in the couple of days before than actually came, but we got about 25 or so people along, but even though it was a free gig there was no walk in trade.
We were first on. In second song I fell over and knocked Stewarts amp over and it made lots of bad noises for the rest of our set. I thought I'd broken it, but it turned out that I hadn't which was good, but I still feel really bad about it. As a result of that and other stuff (mainly personal shit going on around the band at the moment) we hated our set. Good to see Black International though. Their album is in lovely handmade packaging and looks really cool. I don't have a CD player so haven't listened to it yet. Could listen on my laptop, but speakers are so tinny I hate all music I play on it so I'm waiting til I get a new stereo to listen to it.
I was a bit scared cos my wife and I split up at the beginning of february and she knew my new girlfriend was coming to the gig and said she was going to come along and fuck shit up cos she hated what i was doing. She didn't turn up but the new girlfriend did a pretty good job of being drunk and mildly offensive.... She didn't mean any of it....

Yeah, Jonny and his lady were really nice and let us crash in his hoose and stayed up late drinking beer with us (or was it the other wayround?). It was fun.

I think it was mostly the other way round. We didn't get up til after 5 the next day with the exception of me getting up to make tea for you and to say goodbye when you left. My absence from work was noticed. Oh dear.

I didn't even know about this thread.
So yeah, they were bloody good. Gavins bass sounded like a monster and the drummer was amazing and Stewarts guitaring sounded as good as his guitars looked. The Duo-Sonic was tasty as fuck. Minor points: Pissy arsehole bouncers and a fucking ridiculous solo comedy act to round the night off. One man and his beard, and a repertoire of shit songs played on a shit guitar through a shit amp and thoroughly enjoyed by shit people.

Funny for about one song. Not funny after a full set and an encore.

thanks for a) playing, b) organising the other band, c) letting us crash at your flat. i know you're having a bit of a stressful time at the moment and could probably have done without the hassle. hope you didn't get into too much trouble for missing work!

cheers watts, it was nice to meet you and the jazzmatazz and young mikey.
i was getting a bit stressed before the gig because the venue was so fucking laid back about EVERYTHING that we'd hung about for an hour and a half and the sound guy still hadn't arrived, so we buggered off for food, and by the time we got back the sound guy had taken the hump because we were late. i was trying to glean from him information that he seemed to want to keep to himself, like; WHERE SHOULD I SET UP MY AMPS? or DO YOU HAVE ANY POWER SUPPLIES? and finally had to rig up a dangerous looking circuitous ring of cable around the drum kit so we could power our amps and pedals. ridiculous.
i also encountered a young chap in the toilets just before going on who decided he didn't like my jacket, and proceeded to tell me so. he smelled of drugs. it was fine when we finally got going though.
