yeah, it reminded me of that too. I even have the hole in the control plate for the extra switch. I think I'm going to put a strangle switch there like the one on the Electra.

yeah, I still have the switch that went in there. I could never get that damn thing to work.

there's already nicks and scrapes. it will relic on it's own soon enough. these pictures are lying though, the finish doesn't look that good in person. here's a less flattering shot:
eh, oh well, it looks alright most of the time. lessens learned: the primer coat has to be really smooth, if not you won't be able to sand the next coat smooth because you'll just sand out the bumps in the primer. also, if you are not showing the grain,
do not sand with the grain. all it does is deepen the grain lines.

thanks guys!
the only things I bought for this project was the pickup and the paint. I had the neck pickup, it's from scandoslav's CV duo (thanks dude!). the bridge was cut with a hack saw and the edges and corners smoothed the a grinding wheel. for the pickguard I spent half the day saturday mounting the router to a piece of plywood that I then nailed to two saw horses as a makeshift table router. of course then it only took 2 seconds to cut the guard. all the electronics was crap I already had. I replaced the screws with some shiny ones that I had. otherwise it is a joe strummer tele. =]

also a weird thing about this guitar, I was talking to brambleperro about this, the string tree is in the wrong place. from the factory. my theory is either:
it's a factory 2nd.
or
the joe strummer teles were made from factory 2nds.

that always bugged the shit out of me. Seriously, the high E would come out of the nut when I played shows with it.
Soooo, can I have dubs if you ever decide to sell it?
One of only 2 guitars I ever regret getting rid of.

yeah, I just put a little shorter spacer ring under the string tree thing so now it stays put.

yeah it's a pretty nice guitar acshullay. pretty nice neck and the blues bucker is pretty great sounding too, bright and spanky with lotsa mids. really great for chords. I might do a little demo of it at some point.
