Mustang sounds sexy. It's nice to see Fender do stuff like this.

I don't like the fact that they're clearly trying to trick people into thinking they are WRHBs, but some other Fender humbuckers are decent. I really liked the ones on the Jaguar Special I played (Dragster pickups I think they were...) and - unlike most people - I really like the pickups in the current Jagmasters, so the Mustang is still pretty appealing.

Sounds like they could be very cool. Looking foward to seeing pics.

blah. like Fran said, the Mustang is already going to be super jammed in the pick guard area. If they're not going to use WRHB, don't use the covers, because they're even bigger than a normbal hb. Use a PAF and make it a little less crammed.
I'm interested to see these for sure. Probably never own one but would love to see them.

I'm stoaked for new Classic Vibe colours. I'm buying a classic vibe bass this year so more colours is epic for me.

I really want to see the photos now.
I did a Google search using the relevant information revealed in this thread and all I got was a link to this funny little site called shortscale.org.
Google is on their grind, that was indexed quick fast.

I'd love to show pics but I really shouldn't. As soon as a hint comes out elsewhere, especially from the show... then I'll post them up.
I don't wanna become jobless over this, or even have fender sue my @ss

I saw this on Premier Guitar's Facebook page:
Could this be it? Or a prototype? The body looks more offset than a normal Mustang.

I think the hardtail strat bridge may be throwing the perspective off, but it does look a little off. Love to see the new 51/72 though!

The enforcer is a pretty nice pickup. Nicer than the dragster. Better cleans and nice through dirt.

Probably same... thought I doubt it.
That has a 3 way switch on the lower horn... saywhat?

Note the pickups aren't WRHB-sized, they're enforcers with a new split-pole cover. Still have one screw on treble side and regular covered PAF footprint from the looks of it.
Definitely looks a bit wonky (not necessarily in a bad way) to me, can't see bottom line but it looks like it might curve out like a Jazzmaster too.

I like it, it's obviously not entirely mustang shaped. To me it's like a Toronado/Jaguar/Mustang mixture.
Way better than a HH Jag.
