Right, sorry for the delay but the mystery vintage MIJ pickup was sold to me by a retard that forgot to post it. But it is now here and it is fitted!
Slicing tone is all i'm saying, i've got the treble dialed down to three and it will still take somebodys head off
I like it though. Minus the neck this thing cost me about £25 to build and i Just need to let the neck settle before i start tweaking things.
The tone of this guitar reminds me of the sound in Kevin Carter by the Manics

Cheerz Dave.
I've cut down recently Joey; the Strat, Esquire and Mustang are going this week. The Stagemaster might be going too, which leaves me with 7 and that's not counting 3 that were built by myself
Seems a lot but the self builds i could'nt sell and a couple of the others are repaired guitars that subsequently have not got the value they would originally have had.

Poor Kat, she's screaming at you that you have 10 guitars and your telling her that 3 guitars don't count Your lucky she is patience
I take it your selling 3 guitars to fund one really cool guitar

She's patient mate, you know that when we sat and talked guitars for six hours
I sold them three coz i need money for a birthday trip and to pay my accountant mostly. Wont be replacing them either, gonna try and get more use out of the stuff that sits in cases all the time.
Just had a sweat on intonating this guitar, i've had to set the saddles further back than usual. Better check the measurements with a mantape..

Hey Fran, PM me if you want me to cut a pickguard.
Send me a blank and I'll send you the finished pickguard.
I assume you want Esquire shape but with strat-style neck area?

Right. This guitar is about complete, its been playable for a while but i ordered an Esquire guard for it and have also been looking at custom decals.
So i'm looking for suggestions for the third setting on the 3-way were the neck pup would usually go. I was thinking of a boost circuit or something? One thing i'm not clear about is if i use a jumper wire from bridge to neck position on the switch will i need a resistor in there to stop whatever modification i use going back to the normal bridge setting?
The original Esquire uses one so i am assuming it is for these reasons.
I didnt bother doing any circuit crap to this, just one pup, tone and volume.
Sounds great and it is oddly loud acoustic and plugged in. A few sounds here..
