The problem with that song is it's just completely lacking the energy and wit that made them exciting in the beginning. you know liek this utterly great tune with one of the most KILLINGEST second halfs..

He's not from san Francisco he's from Hunters Bar. lolzer

I was always a Monkey Swallows The Universe guy. In the sheffield bands from 5 years ago with monkey in the name rivalry that I've just made up. It was like Beatles vs Stones it was (it wasn't).

Seriously though MSTU were really good.

Humbug was brilliant and I like what i've heard so far from the new album.
Oh come on! I know you're as much an Alex Turner fan-girl as I am! I've seen you on the Arctic Monkeys forum!
Hence why I said I really like them?

Both this song and Brick By Brick are them drawing heavily on the Queens of the Stone Age influence (which, as far as I'm aware, was a big influence from the very beginning). They get it right musically, but the lyrics are lacking in every way. The simplicity of the lyrics works really well for Brick By Brick, but I'd assumed that would be a one-off. This new song comes across as if they want you to think it has some deeper cryptic meaning, but it really doesn't, at all.

I never got into them. I heard of them during the same period when Bloc Party's first album came out.
I think my liking of the Bloc Party album resulted in me overlooking Arctic Monkeys.

well, at least Bloc Party had one good album (two if you count the remixes). i'd say you made out by overlooking this lot.

I like both Silent Alarm and A Weekend In The City, they're both ace.

First two Arctic Monkeys albums = good, everything else = snooze.
