That was graffiti yellow. It's a touch brighter and less orange than monaco yellow. There doesn't seem to be an awful lot in it though.

Graffiti yellow is older than the cyclones, they did some strats in it quite a bit before they used it with the release of the cyclones and toronados.

That looks like a Jeff Beck strat in the second pic. The image says 1987 strat plus, though. That's around the time graffiti yellow came out.

I can remember seeing the whole assortment of International colors in various stores here in SOCA in the early 80s, so at least out here, they were widely distributed. They're usually beasts - heavy bodies, thick finishes, on the chunky side of late 70s neck shapes. Mustangs were made in the series too, but I don't think they were the very last US / Fullerton built Mustangs - the International Series was '81, and IIRC, production on Mustangs ended in 1982. But an International series custom color 'stang is a fairly rare beast, and while I don't know if it's worth $1,700 or not, I'd say it's definitely worth more than a grand US if it's all original and in nice shape.
