Have you guys seen the youtube video of the Grizzly Radius Sander? It's pretty cool, they use a large belt sander. They mount a swing over the sander... just swing the fretboard back/forth across the sander to get the desired radius.

Well time for another update on the self-build-what-u-can-find-in-a-skip ethos!!

After the Radius Block came....THE TRUSS ROD!...Yep thats right i decided any fool can buy one, and ive got a welder
so why not make one....and besides that, i couldnt find one to suit my shortscale neck im making...

1.) Ok...so i popped to B&Q and got me some steel rod
and flat bar for about £8, and set about with me manland tools...

Image
2.) Measured the size, cut the rod with me angle-grinder-stand...and then tapped a thread either end..
Image

3.) Made some small blocks from steel......
Image
4.) Then drilled and tapped the correct thread into the block...
Image
5.) I then screwed the blocks into position on rod, and tack-welded them onto the bar..
Image
6.) I used a coupler and allen bolt for the end, Ground both down, and loctited them onto the rod...
Image
7.) There ya go..finished article.....
Image
PROBLEM IS, IVE OVER-ENGINEERED IT, AND THE BASTARD THING WONT BEND WHEN TWISTED!!
The loctited end also came undone due to the over-engineered rod size...BOLLOX!!!
OH WELL..I TRIED!! HA HA!!
Eventually after trolling the net i found one in 425mm for £5 posted..at TheRockFactory.co.uk
So the moral is...BUY A BLEEDER ITS EASIER! HA HA!!
