Thanks, I just ordered some Ford Grabber Orange for it.

Paint is on. Just need to buff everything out.

Looks fantastic! Nitro or Poly? Did early Fenders use Car Paint like this? I really need to find an early guitar painting history for Fender.

@Taylor; The paint looks like normal car (acrylic) rattle cans. I've had pretty good results with acrylic paint sandwiched between a sealer layer and nitro clear.

Where did you order the grabber orange and what color did you use for the stripes?
I bookmarked a site that sells grabber a long time ago and I just checked the link, of course it doesn't work.

Taylornutt, it's some form of lacquer. I'm not sure if it's nitro or acrylic but it works well with Deft lacquer.

I had a local hobby shop order the Grabber Orange then I found it in stock at Hobby Lobby. The stripes are Hemi Orange from the same line of lacquer by Testors. It only took 2 of the 3 oz. cans of grabber orange to get a good coverage.
They also have Plymouth "Plum Crazy" Purple. I'm thinking of going grape on my Jaguar project.

Wow, that's great coverage for the small cans.
It sucks for me, but I'll have to mail order. You can't buy any kind of spray paint in the city of Chicago due to graffiti restrictions.
Without even seeing the color, I like the idea of a 'Plum Crazy' Jaguar. I'm guessing it's supposed to be close to the color of the Plymouth super bee? I'll need to check out this line of paint because it sounds like they have some cool colors based on the muscle cars of the 60s. Who makes it? Testors?

The ultimate pisser is, the Testors model company is based in my home town. We usta' go there with the boy scouts when we were kids and get free mix matched boxes of model parts from defective molds.

In November we might head up to Toronto for my b-day. That's not too far from Buffalo, is it?

Yes, lots of cool Muscle car colors.
It's Testors 3oz. Spray Model Master Auto Lacquer series.
Just make sure to use a can of sand n sealer and a good coating of Duplicolor white primer and two cans of Testors will cover it.

Deft for the first can of clear. I think I used the Ace Hardware brand lacquer for the second can. I put two cans of clear on it.

Testors is acrylic lacquer. I think I tested it once. Great Swinger!

All finished up. I did a light relic job on it so it would match the ’66 DuoSonic bridge and control plate. I tried my hand at crazing on this one. I see that I could use a lot more practice but I’m happy with how it turned out.
