I'm 1,95m and love to play the little bodys of cyclone, duosonic or jagstang. I don't think it looks not good enough. You just have to hang the guitar deep enough 8)

That being said an upscaled 25.5 mustang is a project I'd like to tackle if I can ever get the time to build bodies. I'm sure I've seen a couple of folks including Andrewdoeshair at Offset do this. Could just stick an aftermarket strat neck on and get a pickguard cut.
You might need to modify the neck pocket a hair and obviously move the bridge back to get the scale right.

On a standard body totally but I meant the whole thing scaled up - like increase the body size AND the neck scale at the same time so that all dimensions still work correctly. Bigger bodied 25.5 stang for teh giants!

Edited for half sentence

I'm really temoted to see if
I gotcha now. I actually used to have a 25.5" Mustang schematic, but I believe it was standard body size not what you are suggesting with actually scaling it up. You could take the Mustang template and stretch it in Photoshop and then match it up with a 25.5" guitar.

INdeed - just keep the heel routings for hardware and neck the same but spaced out further. Then it''s just the case of getting a larger pickguard made.

Sounds like a project for a builder there Taylor hint hint ;)

Ha Ha. I am actually working on my first 2 Mustang projects right now. Maybe if I learn from those, I could help out in the future. 8)

I've thought about making a mustang/Duo-shaped guitar with a maple japanese telecaster neck. Repositioning the bridge would be easy enough, but getting the neck-pocket fit right... Well, that's probably a bit beyond my realm of knowledge. I was thinking about making my second project guitar out of Warmoth parts, but don't think I can specify all my desired options on the website. Probably cost a fortune to get those heavy wooden parts sent from the US to the UK to.
I bought a guitar from America a while back and the import tax was an extra £100 on top of shipping and the price of the guitar!

I would love to take the electronics out of the Mustang Special and put it into a Jag-stang project guitar. Not sure if I would angle both pickups or just angle the back one and straighten the neck pickup. I thought about making my own Mustang Special with traditional Mustang body and trem, but the Jag-stang seems more suited for it plus I may have two Mustangs after this project is over and don't need three.

The hard part will be finding the pickups without having to buy a Mustang special or maybe get lucky finding one being parted out.

Does anyone know what the pot values are on the wiring harness for the Mustang Special? I would love to see some gut shots if anyone was going to open theirs up.

I wish Fender sold all their pickups direct. I have only seen Strat and Tele ones in the past.
