J. Mascis JM is my favorite production Jazzmaster and I still ache about how close last Xmas I came to owning one. If the new Squier one is CV quality and good specs, that would be great. I still want the original one though.

This is pretty much good news.
Proper tremolo, pickups and in white? In theory, a Squier couldn't have better specs for an offset production guitar, methinks.
It remains to be seen if Stewart's unsightly wish becomes a reality,
although with the JM pickguard it would make sense (again) to have nothing of the such. What's more, in this regard to Mr. Mascis' talk of necessary cost-cutting, even with a Squieresque single circuit (nuttin' more than a volume and tone pot) I can't see how a Strat jack would
need to come into play.

Just peered through the windows of the Offset clubhouse. Marvellous thread from a couple of years back, essentially 'J Mascis haets humbuckerz!!!11"

Haha yeah, well it's something he's said a few times. But there's this one guy in the thread who can barely accept Mascis will have ever deigned to play a guitar with humbuckers in it, even when presented with evidence to the contrary.

That looks great!
Looks like they've kept the rhythm circuit, too!

That's a great color combo as well. I love the gold metal pickguard. Hopefully the electronics will be decent. If it's cheap enough, you could change out the pups and parts and still come out ahead. very exciting.

That's nice. My only concern is that the tremolo doesn't seem to have a button to lock it down. (No biggie though)

A certain someone here can't be happy about that.

The blacktop trem rides again.
