Everything is going into just my Pathfinder and then through headphones (can't play out loud since I'm in an apartment). I'd love a CE-2, but they're not getting any cheaper whereas the CE-3 seems to be dropping in price. I'm a big KOD fan, along with Fran, and that's how I imagine using chorus.
I've had a few CE-3s and I think they are different to CE-2s. It maybe the more basic the pedal the easier it is to find sweetspots? DD-3s spring to mind.
Incidentally, there's quite a few on eBay at the moment so I'm hoping to get one below the going rate.
Their circuits are actually really similar, so if you want you could modify the ce-3 to ce-2 specs but with stereo.
I was going to do it to mine when the LED decided not to work anymore. But couldnt be bothered identifying the differences between the circuits, also my technical skills suck so I probably would have just killed it.
I've read in several places the Biyang Chorus uses the same panasonic chips as CE-2s, dont know how relevant that is to the rest of the circuit but the demos sound similar.
I think the one you're referring to the CH-8, correct? I've read some positive things about it and seems reasonable for the price ($58). The guy who sells them, as well as the Muza pedals is only about 25 miles north of me. He'll only sell them through eBay, though.
I was sort of thinking the same thing. The Biyang goes for $58 off eBay and I can pay around $25 more and get an actual CE-2. I just need to be patient.
Just got the CE-2 in today, along with the Tele Thinline, and it sounds really, really good. I know chorus may not be a big deal for some here, but I like a lot of shoegaze, dream pop, and jangle-pop stuff and chorus is used quite a bit. It's not as fast and warbly like the CS-9 I had, but it warms things up nicely.
