Yeah, that's what I figure, too. I'm actually seeing these guy play tonight so I can take a peek at their setup and report back if it's of any interest.

What kind of Music do you play?
Jag-stangs have massively appreciated over the last couple of years, I think you'll find.

Also, there's a clue to the sort of music he's into in his name, Poirot.
They have not appreciated that much, at least not here in the US. The average price for a Jag-stang is still around $600 for a right handed model. The lefties can go for more because they are rare. There are a couple of guys on evil-bay asking for $800+ for them, but that is way more than they are worth. For less than mint, $400-600 is pretty normal around here. I have seen them as low as $350 on CL. I bought a lefty Fiesta Jag-stang for a shortscaler for $600 on CL in really good condition just last month. I think the offers for $400 on both guitars are a good move.

Fran already made the comment about his username, that I just forgot about it until after I was done typing my post.

jagstang, flip it on ebay (some go for like $800 on ebay) then buy the jag, pocket $300 for AVRI electronics.

Jaguar.
On a separate note about that CL ad for the Jazzmaster;
Do you guys think it's a little strange when people put the buzzstop on the CP Jag/Jazzies?
I live in northern Virginia and offsets never show up on CL. Surely none at a decent price.

it's weird, i want to say jag-stang, but it is decidedly not the better of the two guitars in its stock configuration especially. the thing is, if fender even makes them again, jag-stangs will only ever be manufactured on limited runs. jaguars are still being made in several countries and with lots of variety. i think anytime somebody's willing to try something a bit more on the rare side, they should go for it. at that price, you really can't go wrong on either.

I agree, they're not worth it, but ebay has them constantly going over $800.

which is amazing because i couldn't even sell aen's old one on ebay. NO ONE BID FOR IT AND I HAD IT LISTED FOR $600.

EVERYONE KEPT SAYING "JUST PUT THAT SHIT ON EBAY, YOU CAN GET LIKE A MILLION DOLLARS FOR IT."

and i ended up trading it for a musicmaster with too big'a neck...
