Yeah, the CV Duo Sonic neck is beefier than I prefer. It's not the beefiest 24" neck I've ever played, but it's definitely not a tiny neck.

I've got a beautiful condition slab board '65 Mustang neck just sitting here in storage. I saw it on Ebay and thought it would be perfect for a project, but when it got here, I immediately knew it wasn't going to work - it's way too chunky and has a U profile to it - not what I was looking for at all. Sounds like it would be perfect for the OP, but it won't work on the Classic Vibe Duo Sonic. You'd need a Jaguar, Duo Sonic II, Mustang or Musicmaster - the necks from those are not interchangeable with the CV DS,

I don't know of anyone who makes necks that will work with the CV either. Maybe Warmoth could do one for you on a custom basis. Honestly, that's probably what it will come down to - a custom replacement. There's a few companies making 24" necks that work with the Jaguars, Mustangs, etc. but none that I'm aware of that make the "conversion" necks that work with the CV.

I finally took ownership of the Duo and I am very pleased with the guitar. Like I stated before, I played these in stores a while back and kind of remembered the feel of them, but I was surprised when I found it actually feels better than what I remember. I was concerned that the neck profile was going to be too shallow for my liking, and though I do find it smaller than my other guitars, it is a comfortable small. The stock pickups are actually very nice for a guitar in this price range. I've read rumors that they are made in the same factory as the Toneriders but I haven't confirmed this. Nonetheless, they are some nice pickups once I dialed the height down some. The 24" scale feels great and I have a hard time putting it down the few times I have played it so far. The thinner body will take a little getting used to (moreso when sitting), but no biggie by any means. The thicker poly on the neck can get sticky after a while, but nothing a wipe down with a cloth between songs can't cure. Yes, the neck is a bit albino looking, and the thick poly will probably hinder the natural UV tinting (my plan was to hang this one on the wall where the sun usually hits), but it's not really an issue with me. Plans for some brass saddles in the near future, and the 3-way switch really feels mushy so I will probably attack it first before it attacks me. All in all a great little guitar for little monies.
