Thanks for the info on the rhythm circuit everyone - I understand. And, thanks for the additional guitars, MM - I thought I read that Brian May was a 24" scale player.

yeah, that's one of those models I have to call a "jaguar" since other than shape and neck, it retains nothing of a jag. I am not in a majority, though. And I will add that I bet that thing sounds incredible.

I like everything about that one except the strat jack. However, when you remove all the traditional Jaguar plates, the strat Jack is the logical choice to use if you want the minimal metal. To me, metal plates are a defining characteristic of the Jaguar. I almost wish they would have just made a 24" Toronado, but it's a cool concept.

If you're looking for 24-ers, definitely try to find a CBS era (1965-80) Duo or Musicmaster II before committing to a "production" guitar.

Don't get me wrong. New guitars are nice and shiny, and they often have less issues. My AVRI Jag is beautiful.

But as J. Mascis said, there's something about having an old guitar with the neck worn in for you, like an old baseball glove. It's all about neck comfort, IMHO.

For $400-600, you can easily find a '70s era MM. And it will be 24".

I couldn't imagine ever parting with my beat to hell MM.
