holy shit. is that a vista jagmaster you hacked up?

EDIT: and sorry, i don't believe in unneccessary "modds" to perfectly fine guitars (in some cases, quite sought after in their unmolested state).

COOL GUITAR

I BET I CAN FUCK IT UP FOR YOU REAL NICE LIKE

I NEARLY see it maybe, but ... can you tell what's the Fender part N° of these F tuners for Mustang? I didn't know they are sold separately, and I get asked that from time to time.

I know someone on eBay that sells these mustang tuners seperatly and another guitar site too, I post the links in a bit, just taking a smoke break a covered in wood chips and. router dust, I don't want to jump on my MacBook and fuck it up just like I fuck up my guitars, anyway, it's a hard search on eBay but I beleive the dealers are " Pitch perfect " and " Angela's instruments" and google " Darren Riley " he sells them separate or whole

yeah, why change the decal? with the squier decal it will be a really cool unique squier. with the fender decal it will just be a fake fender.

Very much work put in..

Bound necks look good in some cases.
I think its more fun in the process than the result of the work.

Anyways hope it comes out nice : )

And leave the real decal on..

thanks all

i ordered the decals for the neck i choose to by from either warmoth or allparts with the cbs headstock and truss rod at the heel, and didnt know which decal i wouod use so i ordered both kinds, than decided to use the spagetti font decal on this Mascis neck, everyone will still know its a mascis , due to the trus rod hole at the headstock, i never seen a mex or american jazzzmaster with the truss at the head, but i guess i just figured it would look cool, if i sell it, i will post that it was originally a mascis squier, to be honest

Ummmm.. Not only seeing them at guitar center and having NO desire to even pick it up, or even touch it, ugh, the blacktop jazzmaster neck was I think my 3rd B&B job I did for someone about 6 months ago, tuners suck, the humbucker? What's that about , and no upper control switches, it's basically a solid body jag master to me,

But why remark on the blacktop anyway?, what does that have to do with this topic, at least the J Mascis jazzmaster is true to what a jazmaster is, as far as everything except the truss rod being at the head instead of the heel, like your unseen blacktop and the term plate not having fender embroided into the chrome with a pat # and no teen lock button, and the adjustomatic bridge, which I decided to keep for now, but if I want to install the " Fender Mute " on this like I did on a few of my previous jazzmasters and jaguars,

All in all, I would take the j Mascis squire "stock" over that horride version of a jazzmaster, the half jazzmaster blacktop, but being I have the capability to make this guitar more to my liking., I will, regardless off anyone's opinions

Yes indeed, sometimes I wonder why fender even agrees to the people that present a model like that, and than the price, this J Mascis squier that I am modifying is just to my liking , I never put down the Mascis squier "stock" , there are just a few tiny things that wouldn't cost a thing more for fender to produce to make this squier an actual duplicate of a Mexican classic player, like the truss rod at the headstock, or the fender imprint on the tailpiece with a term lock, aside from those two things, the squier Mascis is basically a mex jazzmaster, trust me I know, they put a lot of work into this guitar stock,

Do you guys have any idea how much laquer the neck has, it's satin,, not shiny, but as I first started to score the line down the sides of the neck, it started chiping away of layers of polyurethane I believe , so I had to first sand down to the wood before scoring the outline of the bindings and than carve away, to make it look professional, to be honest, I've bound about 19 necks so far this past year and never had to sand threw the laquer first or else it chipped in evenly, so just by that alone, they put a lot of effort into painting the neck, shows me its pretty good quality, even throw I undid their effort to my own, but that's what fun is to me, aside from playing the guitars and feeling the accomplishment of the final product done by me,

I also fixed the problem with the electronics, the toggle wires where touching each other, I don't know if that was the complete reason for thousands of recalls on these, but I figured out my electrical problem for this guitar,

I'm past the blocks, and channel for bindings, tonight I super duper glue the bindings in, and tommorrpw scrape flush with sides and top, and side dot work, than restain and polyurethane, after refretting, I say another 2 days and this will be ready to go to its new owner to enjoy

update on the neck modd

i bound the neck last night and took off all the binding tape this morning, but didnt scrape them flush with the fretboard or the sides yet, it still looks like crap, but this is the same way every neck looks at this stage, i have to do some things today so wont be able to work on it until after 2pm, here are a couple pics,

glued and taped over night

and what it looks like now, not finished, or scraped yet, but i can see it will be perfect in the end, and still waiting for that damn tailpiece to come in the mail, along with the stains for this neck, i ordered the same vintage amber to give it as natural finish as possible

Gotta keep them teens out.

Srsly though, what do you use for cutting the binding channels? Did you say a while back that you just use an X-acto blade? Or do you use a special attachment for your dremel? Could you post some pictures of the tools you use and how you go about it?

are you fucking dense? you said you'd never seen a mexican jazzmaster with headstock truss rod access. i showed you one. now you're confused?

look, dude. you do good work operating inside your limited spectrum of "modds." it's just boring to see all these guitars turned into the same thing. i hate blocks and binding on anything, let alone seeing them in every thread you make. especially seeing you demolish that vista jagmaster like that; it's sad. for me, personally, to see these guitars with specific parts that make them unique turned into a boring ass bound and blocked AVRI rip off is disheartening. and this website is based around these types of specialty guitars, so for you to come in, running your fucking mouth about how much of a bad ass you are at making these awesome guitars boring as shit, doesn't help your case with me, and i would assume anyone else here.

which you already stated you'll be doing what you want, regardless off anyone's opinion.

Wtf

Whats your problem dude, ? Why I ask myself?,

I mean if you honestly think those guitars are "awesome" like that blacktop jazzmaster or that vista jag master, than why would you be following my threads of how I supposedly "demolish them" ,

I didn't consider that "ugly version of a jazzmaster "the blacktop" to even be a jazzmaster whether it was made in Mexico or fuckin tykwon do'

When I said I never seen a "JAZZMASTER " with the truss rod at the headstock, mexican or american , in my mind I was thinking, an actual jazzmaster , like the avri, or the classic player, which is made in Mexico, that's the Mexican jazzmaster I was referring to , now if you want to call that blacktop a "jazzmaster", that's on you, but traditionally in the jazzmaster, I don't see a humbucker, or a truss at the head,

But regardless, this is so stupid to Argue about , u said something about what this website is about right? , is putting other people down part of what you think this site is about, because I don't , I encourage anyone who is trying to make things like their guitars the way they like them, of everyone just bought a jag master or blacktop and posted pics of that, "stock" than what's the point?, you can just google jag master and look at those pics. They will all be the same, exciting right?!

I realize though there will always be that one in life trying to make things harder for another, and trying to feel better about themselves for whatever characteristic they don't like about themselves,

Get real with yourself, if you don't like me or my boring ideas or work, than here's a simple but educated solution , don't follow my work, I know if I don't like something, I don't do it, never mind look for it to make me even more pissed, are you? Never mind , if getting mad is what you like, than go for it,

I love B&B by the way, even more now, and hate the vista and blacktop even more,

And can't wait to get the "Mij Hollow body jaguar next month, and it's already bound, just gotta add blacks, don't even have to refret, that's my next modd after this that I will be posting, and guitar will mine to keep forever, it's something so unique , I won't be able to sell it ever I think, it's to perfect
