I got an old Columbus chorus for cheap recently that gives the CE-2 a run for its money and has rendered my Ibanez CS-9 pretty redundant.
I like my Boss BF-3 a lot too - I mainly use it set for a sparkly chorus effect that always puts me in mind of the 4th button on the Dimension C pedal.
The delay+mod or reverb+mod setting on any pedal that'll do that is usually pretty nice too.

is tremelo modulation? i love my EH stereo pulsar. this thread has reminded me that i need to use it more.
if trem doesnt count then ive recently discovered i can make my small stone nano sound very "wah-ish" so ive discovered a liking for that.

Electro Harmonix The Wiggler (vibrato/tremolo) - Such a simple effect makes such a huge difference. Classic.
Electro Harmonix Small Clone Chorus - especially Sounds great with my Mustangs. Lush, smooth quality.

How do the CE-2 and the CS-9 compare side by side? I've always been curious of that.UlricvonCatalyst wrote:I got an old Columbus chorus for cheap recently that gives the CE-2 a run for its money and has rendered my Ibanez CS-9 pretty redundant.

I never actually had both those choruses at the same time, but I think the CS-9 sounds a wee bit more processed than the CE-2 - I guess 'thicker' is the adjective most people would use. This video should give you an idea of the differences/similarities.Noirie. wrote:How do the CE-2 and the CS-9 compare side by side? I mentioned this earlier but didn't say why I liked it so. It's an Ibanez CCL Dual Chorus from the mid 80's. Made by Maxon, I think it is pretty much a CS9 circuit (not stereo though) and a FL9 circuit in one box. Flanging is smooth, warm and not overpowering and the chorus is lovely - warm and not too trebly as I find some choruses. Worth a look if you can find one. It also has a switch that allows you to turn the chorus or flanger on with the footswitch or between, you can also use an external footswitch to turn the pedal on or off and use the internal footswitch to switch between modes.

Second pedal I ever owned, still going strong today. I traded it for a Dinosaur Jr picture disk.rps-10 wrote:+1 on the old BF-2
Prefer envelope filters myself, over "modulation"
It's lost the face plate, so I've had to crudely daub the control names on in my childish scrawl.
