I had an SH-5 which I thought was better than the SH-4 in that guitar. Have since replaced it with a BKP Miracle Man which is even better.

Also consider changing the pots to 500k and replace your cap with a better one.

This with a humbucker upgrade vastly improves the JS sound.

put a dimarzio super distortion humbucker or a seymour duncan jb just like kurt had if you wanna get a crunchy sound.
