I love projects that start out as... "I've got an extra pickguard and 1 tone knob"

I'd make the body a lighter green, mint pickguard, red headstock and maple fretboard. THEN you have a Twister!Ben79 wrote:
This would be my choice. Inspired by...

Very similar to what I'm considering doing with my Strat copy when I next have a surplus of money. I want to get a custom pickguard cut for a single volume and soapbar pickup, probably neck rather than bridge position though.hotrodperlmutter wrote:i want to build this one.

I ordered this neck on ebay. I was able to score a bound vintage spec neck for $184 Shipped. Similiar ALLParts necks unbound were $180 + shipping. I got a hold of another buyer (from the UK actually)on eBay who bought the same neck from the same seller and said the quality was good. Last of the Xmas money gone, but scoring the neck will help the build progress faster. I might try painting the matching headstock and see if I can perfect it before trying it on the body. Then the neck can be curing while I am painting the body.AddamInsane wrote:I got THIS on my ebay watch list.
Obviously it needs finishing, and I have no idea of the quality.
It has binding and a big fat CBS headstock. It tempts me...
