I expect teh Kurtdtz would approve

I hear you. I shimmed one of the strap locks on my Super-Sonic with toothpicks for years before I found a screw that fit.

grolsh's are cheap, you get a buzz on acquiring them and they hold just as strongly as standard straplocks; plus you don't have to do any drilling.
And... they look neat.

i have a pair of schaller..and three pairs of dunlops. i prefer dunlops. for various reasons (other than the fucking retarded bigass screw fuckyou)
just never thought the dunlop screws would be such a pain in the ass on this guitar, fine with my other guitars.
as for grolsch and 'buzz' ..."lol"
sorry but live i will have tape with me, prolly.

best.
yep. all others have been less than good. my only complaint is they should use a wider wood screw to grip the hole better. you can stuff it with toothpicks first to combat this, or (as i do) squirt a little epoxy in there before you screw it in. shit don't come out ever.

Our rhythm guitarist uses them, his guitar nearly dropped on the floor last night when the strap part pulled through the (leather) strap.

it sounds like it was the fault of the strap not the locks. or possibly installed wrong, maybe not tight enough.

It's cheaper that way and it always works. Plus Johnny Marr does it, too.

+1

On guitars where I don't have Grolsches, I prefer DiMarzios:
My bass got dropped once (not by me), one of the clips broke halfway and the screw came loose (basswood body, you know the drill). Stuffed a toothpick, forced the screw back in, holds like a champ, even with the half broken clip and all.

depending the position you put the lock or even if lock move to the wrong position its tend open
once its close felldown and i tought it´s was lock fail , but wasnt its moved to bad position , i moved to correct position and dropped a little of hot glue to be sure wont move again.

fuckyeah why not zakk wylde style
2 rings to go into the strap and two ring pins to go into the guitar...tempting xD
it would make a silly 'gimp' sound with no amplification tho

hmm, I would recommend not reaming the fuck out of the strap button holes on your brand new jag with a giant eyebolts.
