The root beer looks terrible. The orange could be good. I think strats could do with those fun ostentatious schemes as well.

Nah, the rootbeer in person was very tempting. It was a pretty Strat; it just wasn't anything special in terms of playing.

I got to see the FSR Deluxe in Carbonated Urine flavor at Guitar Center Pasadena this past January, was surprised how good it actually looked even under the annoying fluorescent lighting.
The creamy/offwhite guard may have had something to do with the better overall color balance, I have a feeling it would have looked rather daft with a white one.

They had a tele deluxe in orange sparkle at a local guitar store, it looked really amazing but the sound was at bit too dark for me.
