Many high-powered ceramic buckers over the years have been said to be "based on Super Distortions" simply because the Super Distortion is kind of the big kahuna when it comes to these types of pickups.
The Ibanez V2 is an Alnico 5 pickup, same as the V1. They got replaced by the V7 & V8s which are ceramics and higher output. Easily found on ebay for cheaps as they get ripped out of guitars often and replaced by DiMarzios or other after market pickups.

Maybe they are ripped out of guitars because they are not really good. If youre searching for high class humbuckers?
I can strongly recommend the Dimarzio Super 3 with 500 k ohms pots. It worked really well for me with all my metall playing, from celtic frost to iron maiden to mercyful fate and so on. http://www.dimarzio.com/pickups/humbuck ... er/super-3
mostly people would avoid these because of the high output DC Resistance: 25.00 Kohm!
But youre searching for high output pickups. This is the same humbucker i use in my squier strat that i modded.
