If Japan started using something other than basswood for their non export guitars. I'd totally be all over them. I may be tempted to get a hollow stang some day though. Hawt.

A lot of trans/burst finished Fender Japan guitars are not basswood because it has shit for grain. My '98 CIJ Jag is alder.
