This is where my guitar broke. You can see the white undercoat where the the paint was chipped by the crack. I think I will have the guy who works on my guitars take a look at it and see if he can touch it up for me.
You know what is weird is the neck pickup in this guitar is super hot(23K) compared to the bridge and middle pickups, weird. I read that some people move the neck pickup to the bridge position and put a Seymour Duncan low out put (7K) mini in the neck position.
I was told the neck pickup is always the loudest pickup on the Firebird because of the neckthru contruction. It really sounds alot different than my other guitars.
That's clearly a Gibson, iCarly. It has US binding nibs (the edges of the frets are part of the binding) and US bridge with no sign of filled holes as well (which means it would have to be filled, refinished and re-drilled), wayyy too much work to do to a broken Epiphone and then sell for only $200-$300 more. The difference between gibson nitro and epi poly (both in feel and looks) is really obvious to anyone who's owned both as well. And it has a gold Gibson vibrola (versus Epiphone-branded one as on Epis) which is pretty expensive aftermarket.
If this WAS a gussied up Epi it would be more money lost to the forger than if he'd bought a Gibson, broke it, repaired it and sold it on eBay.
