As far as I know they're still shipping. My local store just got one in black (the LPB looks MUCH nicer).

in all of fenders advertising it relates the mustang to the actual horse and never the car. calling the thing a fastback would relate it to a car too much?
you honestly think that Ford came up with the fastback name, or even the style? let alone trademarked it?

yeah but that doesn't matter. it still makes it apparent that you are naming it after the car, the ford car, and not the horse. I agree with roe, it probably has something to do with why they avoided calling it a fastback in the end.

sucks because this guitar isn't really a mustang and should have been called something else.

Yeah the are. Mine is lpb. I was thinking of buying another because I feel they are gonna get collectible.

Am I reading this correctly that the Pawn Shop Mustang is now being made in Mexico?

The original Pawn Shop Mustangs were made in Japan. The 2.0 versions (with the satin necks and truss rod adjustment at the headstock end) are Mexican.

I'm not seeing this 2.0 version online yet (I dont think). Are they still $850? No way I'd pay that for MIM...

It appears some sellers are blowing the old ones out, some are not. At $800 I thought these were too expensive, but at $575 they are a steal!

Should have named them cougars, or I guess torinos would have been okay too.

Fastback would have been a neat name..

There was a small guitar company that also named a guitar The Fastback, no idea if that had anything to do with it.

I asked Fender (email) if the MIM version is still $850, but no response yet. Anyone know? Seems excessive, if so...

The MSRP of the Japanese ones was $1149.99, for the Mexican ones it's $1079.99

In the UK this has worked out at about £638 for the MIJ ones and £610 for the MIM ones. Places are clearing the MIJ ones out for less though at the moment.

I haven't seen any MIM Pawn Shop Mustangs in shops. Anyway, I love my blue MIJ Pawn Shop Mustang : it sounds just has I wanted to, it plays well, it's nice.
