This is the best bit, they don't require the receipt.
God I sound like an endorsee, I wish I was

!
I just contacted the UK distributor and they told me to just send the cable to them, no receipt or original packaging. I also cheekily asked for a replacement with right angled jacks and they were fine with it.
I must stress that the only Planet Waves cables that i've had that broke were the cheaper classic range. The slightly more expensive ones I use now have never had any issues, even after 4 years of regular gigging and rehearsals. Doog said that they can't be fixed when they inevitably break, however mine have never broken and if they did i'd get a replacement for free anyway.

You're right! I e-mailed them, and they just asked for the cable information and some code written on the cable, they don't even want the old cable! They shipped me a new one today

They have ace customer service. Also they changed the jacks a year or so ago on the cheapest range, since doing that I haven't broken one - they've been getting regular use too. I actually prefer how the cheaper classic cables doing tangle as easily as the custom series too, also the lower profile is nice.
I'm going to order some 20ft classic series cables tomorrow, for £9 each with a lifetime warranty I'm pretty happy.

I buy my cables from
http://www.audiospares.com and I find them good value and have never had any problems. I use ones with Neutrik Jacks for gigs but have also used a bunch of cheaper ones in my home studio without a problem.

i've recently brougth some of those fender custom shop cables with the black/white cloth style cable. really good cable for not a lot of dollar. think it was about £14-15 for a 18ft angled for my pedalboard to amp and £12 for a 10ft straight for my guitar to pedal board. want another for my footswitch cable so it all matches now!

I bought another 20ft Planet Waves classic series cable (their most basic line), I think they've upped the gauge of cable - it feels slightly thicker. Either way £9 for a cable with lifetime guarantee, Planet Waves stuff rarely breaks on me anyway but if it does at least I won't have to pay for a replacement.
