Fender are the George Lucas of guitar companies: they don't even get their own fucking creations
Um, here's the Jaguarillo picture with the AVRI Jaguar diagram overlaid. They're exactly the same except for the trem placement.

Stick a Jag rhythm circuit plate on the Jaguarillo and it would be the business.

The Jaguarillo sounds awesome though.

Your shit is wack Dave. The Jaguarillo is a success.

No way. It's bollocks. It's like the film 'Munchies' in that it's it's the umpteenth watered down version of a once classic Gremlins, by which time it's tiny amount of difference does very littlE other than to satisfy the collect-them-all VHS horror fan boi.
It is pointless. Fender could have taken that configuration and at least made a fucking new looking guitar INSTEAD OF JUST COPYING WHAT PEOPLE ARE BASHING TOGETHER OUT OF RONDO PARTS ON OFFSETGUITARS JAG-STANG.COM.
Fuck all the pawnshop guitars: FENDER, YOU ARE SHIT AND CREATIVELY NULL AND VOID.

the best thing about the jagraillo, which is debatable, is the name.
there is nothing in the pawn shop series that attracts me.
everytime the annouce a new guitar, it's kinda like Guns N Roses Chinese Democracy... You finally get a date with THE hot chick. you get to her house, wait 2 hours for her to come downstairs, and she's wearing sweatpants.

I actually really like the Mustang Special... the only problem with it is the bridge; ideally it should be a Mustang bridge, failing that, a Toronado/DuoII bridge to fit the pickguard. An out-of-phase option would be nice, but, ah well. Those two complaints aside, it plays wonderfully and sounds utterly awesome.

Disagree, I think Fender is playing very nicely to their strengths - you forget that the mainstream Fender fan loves Strats, we are a niche in the Fender world.
Imagine being a Gibson fan, one of THESE every few years:

Now THERE is a company without a clue what its fans want.

I just want to add to the Gibson hate:

I swear to Gob, those are gonna become so popular at pawn shops in 30-40 years from now and will be super collectible for the kitcsh factor. That wave of hipsters are gonna be armed to the teeth with these.

Well despite Sandy destroying the east coast I received the guitar in the mail today. I've been playing it for the past few hours and it actually sounds pretty awesome (which is all I needed in the first place). Definitely not a stock vintage body. The strap button by the neck has been removed and repositioned by about 1/4" with the old hole filled in. The color of the guitar is not Olympic white at all. Instead it is some kind of pearlescent white finish which is strange (professionally done however). no other real surprises going on but I haven't gone to take it apart yet I've been having too much fun playing it. I will do so soon and see what is going on inside of this thing. Either way at $499 I'm pretty happy with what I got in such a pinch. The MM neck is wonderfully comfortable by the way.
