Ah, the memories
I still have a 507 (Reverb), it has delay and chorus as well, great pedal.

I never had a zoom multi effects. Mine was a korg ax1000g, thinkmou had one didn't you Fran?

Yeah I still use the Korg a lot, its like an old pair of slippers, I know it inside out.
Zoom was leading the race for a long time, only Korg truly competed to begin with and Boss was the main alternative, then Digitech came along, then Line 6.
Line 6 are n00b pedals with presets like 'the edge', 'morellolz' and whatnot.

I had a Zoom 2020! My dad was still using it up until a couple of years ago to get his Hank Marvin sound!

It has presets you donkeys.

You can change presets easy as pie. You just sort it out ahead of time and change it between songs. Yeah it's not going to be able to do several things within one song but it can do several within a set.

The fact it does several effects at once (unlike 1) makes it actually more powerful than the M5.

Honestly it's like herding cats, is shortscale sometimes.

Psss! Easy: just put a newspaper on the ground. In ten seconds they'll all be sat on it.

Thanks for clarifying Mike/All. I can see a decent use for this if the effects sound good. Would love to hear a first hand account and comparison (ROB NUDGE NUDGE WINK WINK)

Ordered one today. Will give you the lowdown.

Check out clever things like LineSel - allows you to have a sound on teh Zoom with 3 effects or something and switch one or more of them in or out using the footswitch rather than just bypass/Zoom.

It's a well thought out box.

Yep, that looks fucking class. Loving that. I wouldn't be touching the distortion models when playing through an amp, but I love them for playing on my own with headphones, so pretty much every part of this would get used.

Probably going to order one later.

(Also love those little pictures; very guitargeek. Is that how they look on the pedal itself?)

Yup, it's got a single colour display so that's what they look like

Chrikey, that is a LOAD of things to play with. The reason I’m circling this pedal is that I could go buy a Behringer reverb machine, and an EQ pedal and come out about 70 quid – more if I want the MXR 108…. This is a killer price that will do reverb and EQ…and then a million other things too. I can even do octave down for rough and ready basslines when jamming into a looper (which I don’t have yet either).

Mostly though I want the DS-1 sim ;)

Obviously.

The distortion models on the Digitech RP's are shite imo, I wonder how these fair. Still worth £75 anyway. Tempted.

Is nasty Chinese toy thing I don't like. (This is satirical hyperbole intended to send up the author's own uncompromising politics and takes all anti- cheap import arguments as read so as not to condescend the reader).

This attitude is outdated, uninformed and racist. You know where the shoddiest stuff is engineered these days? The Western world.

Fran I saw some stuff with the RAT sim and it sounded pretty ace.

The chinese have made practically everything you've purchased for the last 30 years - this sounds like nonsense to me.
I admit, I'm not hot on the idea of digital multi FX but I'm not really looking at this to chase my ideal WOMANTONE or whatever - just a tool to muck around with that covers a lot of bedroom needs (missus) for not a lot of cash..

Agreed on all points. Shit Ben, have you ever even owned a Ford vehicle?
