Not gonna lie... when I saw that poor Duo body, this was my first thought:
This was my second:

Compliments to Cooterfinger. I'll post pics of it on here when I am building it, get it painted, etc. It wont be for a long while though. I'm prioritizing my builds and money for once ha.

Leave it as is. Just put some clear on it, and leave it alone. For some reason I love it as is.

Looks so good but sucks that the whole of the sweet sweet color fade is gone.

Make sure to keep a copy of the original picture saved so if any future buyer asks why it was refinished you can just say "this".
And they'll be all "fair enough"

The whole guitar actually sat on the OKC craigslist for a long time.
A friend of mine asked the dude about it. Apparently it was owned by some sort of semi-local famous Okie in the 70's. He had the thing cut out for ergonomic reasons, I'm not sure what those were.
It's neat to see it get fixed. Sad that the whole rest of the guitar got separated though. It was all original except for the big ass hole in the side.

Cooterfinger is the savior of unwanted and unloved guitars.
I like the daphne.
Thanks, leisureclub for the back story on the guitar.

Fleshlight holder.
And Daphne with tinted clear coat, clearly.

My buddy was as interested as a broke dude can be. I told him I'd fix it if I could get it for like 200USD for cheaper than he was asking. I forget, but I want to say he was asking an odd number in the 600's. Like 630...
I'll see if I can screen shot the original ad, it was posted on my FB wall.

If you ever want to get that same color it's tinted clear over white. I'd say it wouldn't take long for the fade to start to show
if you use the reranch tinted clear. I don't think the white is reranch though. The clear and the white aren't melted together like
lacquer is supposed to do. The tinted clear is like a plastic shell on this one. It's coming off in big strips like a bad sunburn.

Thanks for rescuing that old axe, Cooterfinger.
Regarding color options...the reds and Daphne seem so predictable. I mean if you want to flip it, then those colors should help. But to complement that aged headstock & neck I'd love to see you replicate the aged, yellowed white. And it will look less like a refin (not that you'd withhold that detail).
BTW, I've worked with that ReRanch Fender Neck Amber tint and I agree, works like a charm.
