I don't mind it. Something's gotta be done about that bridge though.
And that RIDICULOUS price

If Squier made one of these for £230 I'd be all over it.

I made A Super-Sonic, my blue one, into a strat.

Sorry to offend.
I didn't have a shot of just the blue one.
It won't happen again. I removed my posting of the picture. Yours remains.
(***Note to self: guitar forums are not the place to show off pictures of your guitars.***)
It does have Strat pickups, though, and a five way, and a push-pull volume pot that makes the in-between positions quack.

The Strat trem ruins it. The pickups rock though.

This is a great idea. Take one of the Squier Mustangs and do this to it. The red one with white pickguard and black pickups would look fucking rad turned into a strat. It'd be way cool to have a shortscale strat.

I'm not sure I believe it used to be a Mustang. I think it's more likely to be a later Musicmaster body with a Mustang neck. Perhaps something says otherwise? Contours maybe?
Filling the trem routes neatly enough that you can't see a mark of them under a black refinish (though admittedly it's only one photo and perhaps you can in the right light) requires more skill than you'd expect from someone who writes an advert like this -
LATE 1960s FENDER MUSTANG REDONE TO STRAT JB PICK UPS STRING THREW BODY 5 WAY PICK UP SWITCH, NECK ORIG WITH RE FRET AND LOCKING TUNERS PLAYS NICE QUESTIONS CALL 727 403 1950 THANKS
Still, it's not something I'd want but I quite like it.

I'm not sure why some of you are in such a snit about this.
It's just a Mustang. Fender's student/entry guitar for the wealthier young teenagers, those whose parents sprung the bit extra $$ for that one instead of the ones without tremelo. These were certainly fair game for modding back in the day. And in that spirit, who knows what was done to this guitar before the current seller had it.
There are those who prefer a hardtail to a tremelo, and some tremelo users don't prefer the Mustang's tremelo. There was no biggie in changing it, on such a cheap student guitar made for kids, back then.
I personally don't prefer a black on black color scheme, but then I'm the guy who nearly flunked art class and would never presume others should obviously share my aesthetic choices.

Looks pretty cool. It does look like a modified MM though. Not sure I would of hacked up a Mustang.
