Someone on Offset got a guitar through customs recently & paid no tax or duty, so you could get lucky.

I've seen online that if the person sending it writes "gift" or "returned item" they can avoid the tax for the other person - whether this is true or not is a different matter.

it was £60 for greenknee because that's 20% of the total. 20% of a £600 guitar is gonna be around £120 sadly.

you can get lucky but i wouldn't count on it these days. the gift or parts for repair, returned labelling doesn't work either. plus your insurance is gonna go down the swanny if it gets lost or damaged because it's been undervalued or mislabelled. on a £600 guitar i'd do things by the book.

It said on the HMRC site that it was only 3.5% import tax.

It's not a deal breaker, it's one of my dream guitars so I'm not planning on selling it anytime either.

that's the main thing! it looks excellent anyway.

Upshot is that Bronco's do hold value really well, and that is a very fine example of one.

Shave a bit off the bridge or the part? Also I have noticed that my bronco doesn't seem to stay in tune when in drop D - it just sounds wrong. Anyone got any advice?

Beauty. I think it's worth enough not to lose sleep over. Not sure what to do about trem. The mechanism is unlike most Fenders, but once you understand it and set it up properly, it's a great one. I can't remember the fittings on the missing piece, but it almost looks like you could drill a hole in a Tele knob with grub screw and be pretty close. There are probably car parts and metal bits that could fit right in. Keep trying.



I kluged together a Fender XII bridge. That's a rare part as well. The TOM looks like it was made for it.

there was a place i had some metal parts made in wisconsin. im suprised no one has taken some of these rare parts and had a place like "chipewa metal fabrications" make a duplicate. everything is cnc cut to exact .000000s of a mm. and the prices were pretty freaking good. altho the original cnc setup no matter what the pattern is like 70 bucks. everything after that is just the cost of the raw material.
i know i didn't spell the company name correct. but if you google it, you;ll be able to find it just fine. its just down the road from the lienenkuegal brewery.

Shave a bit off the bottom of the part.
Well you should definitely get it intonated, Broncos are pretty moody if you don't get them set up.
Using 11's does help keep it intonated, just my personal opinion.
I can play as rough as I want and my Bronco literally never goes out of tune unless its me doing the detuning.
