Weird creamy colour with the wood grain showing through looks class. I usually find the paint jobs on LP type guitars are a bit too 'flash'.

I got my guitar today. Pretty cool but it looks like somebody stubbed out their cigarette on the nut,lol.

Someone pointed out that the pickguard on my guitar looked like a replacement
I found this photo of an all original 2342IV. It has a white 4-ply pickguard
Should I find a 4-ply white pickguard that would fit my guitar or just leave the pickguard off like my Firebrand.

IMO it looks way better without the pickguard. I also think your pickguard looks better than that 4-ply white. Finding an original replacement would probably not be easy anyway.

Just leave it off. Even if you get something close in 4 ply the ageing on the cream won't match anyway.

George,this guitar is going up for sale at my friend's store.I will put it in the classified section,only thing is they won't ship oversea so you would have to have it ship to someone in the USA who could forward it to you. Cognitive dissonance here, it looks too Tele with that blonde body and maple neck, but the rest looks too Les Paul.
