A Gibson style chrome cover maybe? Or could the very top be sliced off 2 cream Strat pickups,one to go over each JB bobbin?

Strat pickups are wider than buckers so that probably wouldn't match up too well without some serious work to the overall shape of the strat cover bits... at that point you'd almost be better off fashioning a façade out of plain scrap plastic. I don't think you can get a creme JB either given DiMarzio's stranglehold on that scheme.

BTW smokes that blue Mustang looks so nice with the mods, super elegant.

Sorry, I know my questions were numerous and seemingly unrelated, but....

does anyone know if the Kurt Cobain Mustang is now discontinued? Might a mint one become colletcible/valuable in time?

Also, what is the point of Fender reverse winding the Mustang neck pickup, when there is a phase switch for each pickup? or am I missing something here? So if I replace Mustang pickups with regular Strat pickups for example, where neither are reverse wound, would the only difference be that one of the switches would now operate the opposite way?



PS what was the thread that had the Mustang that had been cut down to a tiny weird shape? with the metal copper plated, and weird studs put it on the headstock? It looked like a hippy did it..

I would contact this guy, he's done good work for me in the past and he's cheap - not sure if he can cut guards for you though. His names Alberto and works out of Scar Studios in Camden, he also builds amps.

Oh cheers man, I know Scar - I've rehearsed there a few times in the past. The pickguard is for another guitar isn't that important anyway.
