NGD - Gibsons smell like chocolate/vanilla

My '98 SG standard in cherry smells like vanilla and tobacco. It's nice. But I'm surprised it doesn't smell like vanilla and cherries, to be honest.

Interesting... the case does have a distinct smell. One of my cases in fairly new, the other is much older and has no smell. Perhaps it's the sweet smell of the finish? Some finishes have a sweet (albeit chemically) smell... a few newly finished Strat bodies I've ordered from MJT have a very distinct smell.

I love my SGs too. I bought a new Derek Trucks SG last Christmas and then shortly after that scored a '61 Reissue for a great bargain on FleaBay. I certainly didn't need the second one but they both play and sound fantastic. The '57s are great pickups and I've always had a thing for them.

Anyhow, congrats on the new guitar, it looks great!
