Its fairly obvious you wont get a widdly demo with a Dano and we would be idiots to expect one. Post Punk or not, a good tune is a good tune that captures the listener with its melodic content and the way it is executed. This does neither for me, just my opinion.

Corny is sort of a birthright for Silvertones and Danos, though.

This is better/worse, although obviously the Klira won't play or sound like a modern guitar.

Tim, any more info on that one? That looks quite nice.

Dave wrote:Eh, you guys are being too hard here. He's blatantly playing a guitar part from an actual tune that would work really well in a Gang Of Four/Shellac type affair so it does sound rather sparse out of a full band context, and YES widdlers aint gonna dig it. I liked it, though it's possibly not the best way to demo the guitar. i mean really: Everything that is wrong with guitar is the techy/widdly/blues demographic that is ALWAYS represented in these videos. Totally agreed; the riff sounds like it's going between 9/8 and 11/8,
dat mathy post-rock viiiiiiiibe.
I actually love the sound of this thing although I imagine that's more down to Vox. Singlecoils into crunchy AC30?
Good god, so good.

It's a Klira Ohio. The two-pickup version is the Triumphator and seems more common. I've not tried these personally, but they come with all sorts of fun vinyl and plasticy finishes. Imagine they play like Framus guitars of the same era. They have something of a shared lineage. Always liked the look of these, but have my Eurodrek bases well and truly covered.

I'm with Doog on this: I think it sounds great with that amp. I like the trebly abrasive sound and when he throws in a low bit it growls nicely to my ears.
I have to say I really really like the look and sound of this guitar. I'd go for one over a U2 I think. But not new. I'd even consider a vox amp simply based on this demo.

I really didn't know you could get that sound out of an AC30. I'd never buy a Danelectro but something else with lipsticks might work similarly.
