http://mybloodyvalentine2.tripod.com/ also is pretty interesting reading about kevin shields
and these magazine scans are pretty cool too, the pages are in backwards order, however.
Did Kevin Shields use a Marshall Guv'nor or Shredmaster?

It could quite easily be the Drivemaster, same case as the Shredmaster but the circuit is essentially a Guv'nor minus the effects loop. So it wouldn't be so strange for him to have used a Drivemaster mid-tour if the by then discontinued Guv'nor buggered up.
...but yeah, in that photo it's definitely not a Guv'nor.

They both use the same op-amp driving a pair of clipping LED's to create distortion. From a quick glance at the schematics, they appear to be really really similar.Ro S wrote:Interesting, I didn't know that. I was told that they're pretty much the pre-amp from the solid state JCM800's (the Lead 12's or something like that). I had both at one point and they sound neigh on identical, the Drivemaster was a little brighter but they both nail that Isn't Anything tone.71Smallbox wrote:They both use the same op-amp driving a pair of clipping LED's to create distortion.
