I like the strats with gold pickguards...like Pee Wee Crayton's.

well, there certainly is something very striking about that one. it actually looks halfway decent on red, i don't think i've ever seen one like that.

Yes,I think that was a production model. Leo Fender gave Pee Wee that strat in '54.

I agree. What a shame. Or what a joke. Thousands for that scratched up and shit....?
My jammin buddy, a fanatic guitar collector, just received his shell pink Fender Bass VI from the Fender Custom Shop. Matching headstock, MOPearl block neck inlays and matching MOP pickguard. Not a 6-string bass, it's more like baritone guitar. With the strings closer together so it almost requires a flat-pick. We played it last night and it's unique and takes some gettin used to but the point is...
They charged him $6000 and then after they shipped it with some gross errors (way unlike the Fender Custom Shop), they rebuilt it and charged him $3500 total. And the thing is, it's pristine with a beautiful case and Custom Shop documents. He's a pro and will use it mainly in the studio, not as the go-to axe for gigs, but he's not shy of takin it to some gigs. He'll protect it and it'll appreciate.
What the hell is this scratched up and shit $2400 guitar gonna be worth in 25 years... ?
Love the axe you got.
Cheers,

Hey...I noticed something else interesting in this video...
That's weird, it's like a Duo-Sonic with the Swinger's lower cutout added.

It's a shadow.

I thought it was a shadow at first but after watching the vid I'm pretty sure it is actually there because you can see through it to the wall around 1:44, and reflection off a body edge in the cutaway.
