All that work for a sunburst?

There's a whole range of awesome out there just waiting to be picked.
You're talking to a guy who DIY'd Shell Pink nitro on a pre-CBS Duo, then kinda regretted not having done Desert Sand. I'm hopeless!!!

To be fair, I would have gone with the 3TS as well. Jags look "right" with that finish.

Great job with the removal. I was dreading this to go badly.

Yeah, Jag definitely suit sunburst. I have a thing about burgundy mist and LPB at the moment.

sunburst refins usually look a bit wonky to me, they aren't easy to pull off.

If sunburst is what you want then don't be swayed otherwise. There's too much of that sort of thing on guitar forums. When it comes to decisions someone will almost certainly regret it's understandable ('I have a $300 Gibson melody Maker which I love. For my second guitar I'm going to build a warmoth guitar with 24 switches for every combination possible and a wizard neck'), but when it's just a matter of preference it approaches the distasteful.

tl;dr - paint it Oly White.

Sunburst entails more work than any other finish. Plus it's the defacto Jag finish, and this guitar's original finish. Good choice.

I'd like to see something new?

Personally I'd love a candy apple green jag. You however, may not. Can't really go wrong with a 3ts. I do love the target bursts, that'd be pretty cool, but less period correct I guess.

Then now's the time you should start working on your own project.

I'm waiting for paint and lacquer and will finish the neck on one this week, hopefully the other will have it's neck done in the next few weeks. Not sure when I'll get the bodies done. Should hopefully have something in the next few weeks though. Will post updates

if i could, i would like to suggest an "easier" way to do sunburst.
stain the wood yellow, mix up some dark brown in a preval sprayer can. and use the brown in light layers around the outside. you won't get the red of a normal sunburst, but it will produce a night tabbaco sunburst and its ALOT easier than trying to spray three colors evenly.

I'm normally a 100% DIY motherfucker, but this one is going to a master to get its new 3TS!!! ;)

tobacco is my fav finish

Burst is definitely the most challenging, glad you outsourced it so you don't have to stress about it

Yup. Not easy for me to have someone else do stuff, but in this case I think it's for the best!!!
