The heater is the bit at the centre of the valve assembly that glows orange - in a dual valve like an ECC83 there will be two. It is literally a heater, warming up the metal of the cathode (usually a vertical tube) so it will release electrons easily. In a power valve you'll often also get a blue-ish glow as a result of the high voltage.stewart wrote:what d'you mean by heaters?
