Yeah, I can't stop mentally acknowledging it this way in the thread title.

every time someone posts a link to a small builder i'm half afraid to open it in case someone slags them off and they turn up in the thread.

what happened to the other thread about the paint splatter guy? i noticed they'd joined and a shitstorm was brewing, and it was gone when i next logged in. i presume it ended as horrifically badly as i imagine, and was binned?

You talking about Jooky? That thread is still there, the guy seemed alright, if not a bit eccentric. Some of his posts were a bit cryptic but nothing overwhelmingly ugly happened.

the "tomcat" is just a straight rippoff of a GUILD S-200

The headstock decal looks like they did it in Word. Awful.

I'm sure it's a generic tag for all the guitars . Simple and help keep costs down. At first. Kinda like old Eastwoods. The old ones look lame and later got more original . This guy will do the same.

I really dig these. Very mutant yet original.

I don't.

But I expect it to be wood from houses or barns where witch trials were held, or from tubs they were dunked in or other torture devices.

I do agree that the logo could use some work, but the ideas are there and some of the designs are really pretty interesting. Someone of them i'd never ever so much as touch, but they are pretty cool overall. I could imagine the necks not being great, and i'd definitely be interested in playing one. Im surprised no one on here or OSG has one yet!

I got to know the builder pretty well, by day he is a Miami PD officer. The guitars are made in Korea, I had 2: A Classic Creep and a Sad Fester. Quality and build were along the lines of Squier or Epi (your basic mass produced guitar). The pickups were good, bodies were fairly heavy. Sold them because I wind up selling everything.

Do they ? You ever play one ? I hate when people say they " Heard " shit .. Just heresay garbage .
Why aren't there any used ones out there ? They're new . Like " Just came on sale a few months ago " new .
The only bad thing I've gotten from a legit owner is that the tremelos suck. Wood is great . Necks are chunky and most have the flat clear coats . Pickups and electrics are great . They're Kent Armstrong . Decent stuff.
The ones I've seen for sale on Reverb.com have been reasonably priced . Like 20% less than what's listed on the sight . There is one of the Levitations on the site for $525 plus $50 shipping when it's listed for like $725 on the site .. Same shit Fender does .. Suggested Retail to Actual Retail .
To be honest if I didn't have 13 fucking guitars laying around I'd grab that levitation and throw a few mods on it like a Bigsby and a better pickguard . I might need to cull off some gear . It's becoming an addiction.

Necks were fine. A lot better than the new Gibson I bought in 2012. The trem on the Creep could have come from the same factory that makes Squier trems - same quality.

I remember when this company first started. They were going through different factories testing them out. So they had tons of guitars made and weren't happy with a lot or had blemishes, etc. so they were selling them really cheap on eBay. (Before the company was official) I thought they were cool and different. And thought maybe I'll buy one. They seem like they'll be pretty cheep.

A couple months pass. They are legit and advertising. A LOT more expensive than I thought they would be. I love a good copy cat guitar and they are all fun but I hate expensive copy cat guitars. Some of their designs are kinda cool though. Some just seem unfinished. I like how they offer everything in lefty. I hate how they paint all their necks. Yuck.

All in all, they are pretty cool guy(s) and I have heard great things about their finished stuff. They're on OSG by the way.

Oh and I totally agree on their logo. Come on, I've seen better first act logos.

Very nice, most of them, Sad Fester bores me, Revereration looks great in burnt orange, Ulysses cheap for a Diddley style ( I forget the name). Prices seem ok to me, besides, buy what you want , who cares about resale value, unless the thing costs thousands.
