i wanna say this guy is one of those confused 50-60 year old dudes that barely know how to communicate with people on the internet without sounding like an incoherent jackass.

i think its the
"you are welcomed to wire me monies lulz... (<--- sarcasm)"

that gives it away

More like a young kid ..... Seriously, how many 50-60 yr old men you know say " Lulz" ?

no, look at the context clues here, kids typically don't have luthiers or plan to move abroad.

also no one says lulz except oblivious journalists reporting on 4chan

There are a lot of Fender fans on this site because Fender simply makes some of the best sounding, best feeling, best playing, highest quality shortscales around. It's not a prestige thing... They're just great guitars!

Squier too has been making fantastic shortscales as of late. I had a Squier Jaguar which was quite light... Not bulky at all IMO. Lighter than many vintage Fenders I've played!

And regarding price, you can find a used MIJ Fender shortscale for under $600 easily. You can find vintage for cheaps too... I sold a 1976 Musicmaster for $400 on this very forum. Squier is the best deal of all... $300 new or $200 used.

Uh... Any questions?

Why don't you buy an Epiphone Wilshire? It is not properly a "shortscale" guitar (I think it is 24.50/24.75") but it has a comfortable and ultra-thin neck, and it is very light! Moreover, IMO, it sounds good and IT IS CHEAP (less than $300).

I think the problem is that fender is too mainstream.

What exactly are hipsters? Are they hippies that wear suspenders?

If they wear them ironically and with skinny jeans, yes.
