Seriously feel like jacking in this fucking project. It's no longer worth the money or the effort I've put into it.
Tried to fit the guard shown above onto the guitar but will not fit. The pots, specifically the second tone pot is causing interference. I bought a "proper" Fender 62 reissue guard for almost £40 which is a piss take. I try the same thing and the second tone pot just won't fucking fit. Fuck this guitar. Nobody ever put together a Strat because it's a fucking BALL ACHE.

Do you mean the pots are too big for the cavity? I had a similar issue before because I was using a Japanese body. The routing and the OG pots were much smaller so it was too snug with the full size pots in there.

That's exactly what I'm saying mate. The body is US spec though according to the guy I bought it from so shouldn't be an issues. It fits all US parts so far too so no reason not to believe him.

If the US Guard fits but the holes don't line up it's probably a Japanese body.

It's definitely a USA body. I have since been speaking to the person who actually made it. I'm gonna be seriously thinking today if this is worth any more of my time.

Couldn't you use smaller pots to allow the pickguard to fit? It would be a shame to stop the project now.
That said, if you are dead set on selling it, could you PM me what you would want for the neck, before you ebay it..

So, I've been speaking to the dude who made the body. He said he will send me a pickguard that he knows fits. He sent me some pics of it attached (with big pots) to a fiesta red body he has just finished. He has been super helpful and seems like a good guy.
So for now, the tantrum stops. We will see what happens when this guard turns up. FINGERS. CROSSED.

Finished having a breakdown now. Got a whit PG from the guy who made the body, not my first choice but it FITS.
Decided on BKP Apache for the pups. Nearly there shortscale.

Ideally I wanted it all the same colour or all "aged". I just took the gloss off the pickguard with scotch brite for now as I wanna get this together.
