A few years back at a friend's birthday I had a guy literally tell me he was *thinking about* a spalted purpleburst Warmoth superstrat project when I showed him my $600 white Tele build, and ended his summary with "it'll probably cost quite a bit more than yours, haha!"
I remember grinning and going "right on" while thinking "I hope the police are beating up your parents right now".
