how do i get my hands on one of these chinese rickenbacker copies without getting ripped off? (aside from buying a real one and getting ripped off)
i really want one of these, even if it's not "rickenbacker quality", cause it's a bass and to me as long as the neck doesn't suck it doesn't suck.
NOT GONNA PAY 2000 FOR AN AWESOME LOOKING BASS WHEN I CAN FIND THE CHINESE VERSION FOR OVER 1000 DOLLARS LESS. BULLSHIT.
wanna get my scott pilgrimz on, but i'm on a serious budget.

I don't know why everyone wants a Rick bass copy. I played a real one (not mine but a friend's), the neck was so hard to play, especially if you play guitar the strings are very far apart and the neck is super wide. Pretty much every other bass I've ever played was easier to play.

I partially agree based on my experience with 4003s in shops (ugly action/spongey playability, didn't have an issue with the spacing), but to be fair someone who plays one of those neck-thru coffeetable basses say the same about a Fender... not to mention the fact that these copies probably feel more like a P-bass than a real Rick anyway.
And how come instead of a sticker price on the tag Ricky put some bollocks about "these questions three"?

I tried a real one in a store, it was an old one from the 70's (have no idea about their QC in the 70's), but i loved it, only thing that stopped me from walking out with it was the price tag and dudes at the front door. lol
but pretty much every bass i've ever played pretty much sounded and felt the same, i can't tell the difference aside from more versatility with sound when there's 2 pickups in them, so it's all about DAT look for me personally.
if they play like pbasses instead of rics i'm sold too, love pbasses. just don't care for the look of em over ric basses.
THEY JUST LOOK SO COOL GUYZ.
but are their any sites i can get em without being totally dicked over? not really concerned about ridiculously long shipping time.
