Presumably you can get a fairly simple drop in replacement for a 12 string TOM style bridge? i.e. one that allows proper intonation?

not that i know of. and even then there's still no height adjustment, which isn't a deal beaker but a nice thing to have on something that may hinge on a bit of extra comfort. i dunno, the gotoh one is perfectly fit for purpose, as is the vintage fender style if you don't mind fixed radius.

Ah, fair enough. Maybe one for John at Staytrem. Seem to recall him doing a 12 string Jag/Jazzmaster bridge for someone. Might have imagined that though.

that would be ace. a TOM drop-in would be a winner too - surprised there's no simple or affordable solution yet.

i've often wondered about modding a jag tailpiece for a 12 string and doing a build out of it. given how stable they are i really think it'd be a possibility.

The one I saw that (I think) had a 12 string Staytrem bridge was hard tailed. It had a custom string through tail piece plate.

You're right though, I reckon a 12 string with Jag/Jazz Trem could be ace.

If Squier ever bring out an affordable Electric XII, that sort of thing could become a relatively easy build.

2412 is ToM style but you'd have to check the dimensions

^ looks to be around £100. quite expensive but if it was for a guitar i loved, i'd hit it

you'd think though, that there'd be cheaper solutions by now seeing how shit doubled up bridges are, and how many 12s have them.

so i've been thinking, i really like the Pelham blue deluxe. how easy would it be to change the robot tuners for a standard set of tuners? i could live with the boost switch.

I recently picked up a 2015 Les Paul special double cut away. I thought that I would hate the tuners based on inet opinions, but mine have functioned flawlessly and have been a surprising delight. Haven't manipulated the tuners for any alternate tunings, but if it works as well with alternate tunings as the standard tuning, then it will be worth leaving it as is.

Looks relatively painless with the newer Min-Etune set: Removing Min-Etune (mylespaul.com).
God knows what Gibson is thinking these days - they have one of the hardest-core traditionalist customer bases and they keep trying desperately to be cutting-edge by adding clueless gimmicks.

I think that was only while they were having issues with importing wood. Pretty sure mine is rosewood.

When they were getting hammered by the EPA or some other government agency they didnt have access to rosewood so they used what they called " burnt maple" which was a darkened maple. I think this was 2011 or 2012. People said it was shit . I thought it was okay but you can certainly tell it wasn't rosewood.

I LOVE you my deluxe good too, though it's a 72. They are definitely the unloved les Paul, good on you for looking at them.

I've always loved the deluxe, that and p90 gold tops. They've always looked better to me than a standard. Love mini hums too, had they in a daisy rock and always wanted to try a proper deluxe.
