I was looking at the Future one, I couldn't live with those tuners tho. So bloody ugly.
Some demos online show versions with standard ones but I've not found em in any shops.
Will they just refund me or will it take weeks anyway?

Pooh Brown suits an SG like no other guitar imo. Don a full black scratchplate and it'll be the 1970s again.
Bugger... just read the rest of the thread.

Phone Paypal, they've always been brilliant for me on the phone: they'll come down on these people like a tonne of bricks, not sure what they've done is legal. Give it the "I'm a gigging musician, this is costing me money" line.

I had a similar issue a couple of years ago from an online shop. I filed the claim and as soon as Paypal notified them they paid me immediately.
14 days is total bullshit. They should just do a reversal on it and it should happen immediately.

That's what I thought they'd do.

www.musicjunkie.co.uk was lured in by the fact they were £110 cheaper than everywhere else...

Shipped this morning, from Thomman.
Looking forward to it my kind of bare bones guitar, not a big fan of fancy finishes and have come to the conclusion I like teh wooden guitars to be wood coloured.

Anyone after something similar (but with thinner neck and weirdo tuners) Thomann is selling these SG Future Tributes for less than £400(!)
My SG Jr arrived yesterday, and I almost had a Benecol "is this really how you pack a guitar?" rant at the seller, but held my tongue as through sheer luck it's in perfect shape. Update when I've played it for another day or two.

So how's it playing?

Nice and light and really resonant unplugged. I don't like the look of the tuners at all, but they work very well (as would buttons, I guess). I can't get on with the P90 though - it's too brash and honky through these Fender amps and I keep trying to tame it with a compressor or fiddling with the tone and volume knobs. Thinking I'll give it a chance then maybe put something underwound in instead.

Are these guitars with pots mounted on a pcb? Read of folk ripping them out and replace them with a traditional loom, may help.
I found a company called Vanson who do what what appears to be a straight p94 copy, £35 a set on ebay.

I think I'll find out when I open 'er up to swap the pickup. The pots feel pretty solid - good resistance to turning, so they're not the cheapest.
I quite fancy the Lollar 50s wind P90 - it's £72, but I've gotta order through a dealer to get that price and not pay import tax so it's about a 2 month wait :-/
