Plates are all done. Only thing I am missing is the jack which should arrive this week and the pickups. (Of course the new paint needs to dry before I work on it.) Plates turned out ok. The volume/tone lower plate was a beast. I left it in acid for almost three days without much reaction. I just decided to steel wool it up and use salt and hydrogen peroxide. It will be fine. I am not going for beauty pageant. :)

Did a mock up before I relic'ed the body. Neck fits well and parts line up ok. Might have to drill a couple new holes for the plates due to the new guard. Man Jaguars suck for lining up holes... LOL Anyways, here are the pics. I also included some of my relic work. (I know not everyone approves of artificially aging guitars and I also know I am no pro at it. I just had fun with it and I am pretty happy with how it looks. :))

I'm not really a fan of relic finishes but I reckon that'll start to wear through quite nicely!

Thanks!

Pickups arrived today. No name builder on eBay. They are lower output and supposed to be like Pearly Gates humbuckers? I guess I will have to see.

Once again I forget to get guitar strings and make myself wait..... LOL Here are the pics! I think it looks great.

that is pretty rad looking. seeing the decal against the headstock reminded me of the black jaguar i had with the matching stock. i don't remember who i got it from, but i think i sold it to ben? or maybe he ended up with it. anywho. it tripped me out that from the factory with the matching black stock they used a normal decal. you could only tell in certain light that it said jaguar.

This is like that for sure. You can't see the letters next to Fender unless you are close enough. :)

So are you not going to sand through to show the sunburst anymore?

Naw. I had planned on that, but the back of the body was all black when I got it and had a poorly done burst on the front so I just painted it black. Then I decided I didn't want another black Jaguar.... then I thought of a white one with black under.... and here I am. :D
