Yeah, those plates can be hard to come by... and are almost always a different alloy, so have a slightly different colour tone to the rest of the chrome on the guitar. They definitely do the job well, though.

As for using the Jag for two tones using the rhythm and lead circuits with only one setting each, well, you're missing out on some of what makes the Jag great. Great that it works for you, but, it doesn't for everyone.

you go and get your 3 tones from a 3way switch. when you do it make a youtube video for me how a 3way switch makes 3 tones.

after you are 50 dollars shorter for a little piece of metal.

Rob, you're talking about a 3 way switch, OP is talking about a 3 way toggle. Bridge, both, neck. 3 different sounds. He wants to be able to switch from say, neck to bridge pickup without having to change 2 switches on the lower circuit.

Now I know you personally do that with the rhythm circuit switch, but the neck pickup on that circuit sounds vey different to the normal circuit. I also love the upper circuit in a Jag, tho we seem to me in the minority with that one.

I wanted a 3 way switch in my cobbled together P90 jag so I just drilled out the plate. Total cost £7. Fuck paying £50 for a metal plate with a slightly different hole layout.

I also mounted it the other way round as I too strum nearer the neck and wanted to keep it out of my path.

yeah who cares how clean it looks if you are going to put a threaded washer ring over the drilled out hole that covers it all up. looks great.

I also replaced my switches with a 3 way toggle and the remaining switch is wired as a phase switch, works well. So much better than the original configuration.

Yes! I reckon I'll just do that!

I had originally planned to put a humbucker in the bridge so this layout would have let me keep the strangle switch and have the other switch to split the humbucker. The P90s sound so good I've abandoned that plan tho.
